Habitat Home for St. Patrick's Day Parade
Miss Carrie Johnson
For immediate release. October 4, 2012
Romanza recently contributed $100 to Habitat for Humanity's fund for the Carrie Johnson Home and encourages friends of the St. Augustine St. Patrick's Day Parad e to contribute as well.
The well-known and much loved 77 year old, is known to many as the "Voice of Lincolnville", and Miss Carrie was Grand Marshal of Romanza's 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade.
"Carrie's philosophy is to do things for folks, because they deserve it. Without a doubt, Carrie deserves her new home in Lincolnville. The good will which she has shared in St. Augustine will be coming back to her."
Last year, it came to Habitat's attention that Miss Carrie had been living in very poor housing conditions and paying an exorbitant amount in rent. Carrie lives on a very limited income and supplements her income by working at the St. Francis House as a laundress three days a week.
A special account has been established for The Carrie Johnson Home to purchase property and construct a Habitat home in Lincolnville for Carrie Johnson.
Groundbreaking is expected this month and we hope to have Miss Carrie in a new home for the Holidays. But funds are still needed. To hold a fundraiser for the Carrie Johnson Home or to volunteer, donate materials or make a financial contribution, please call Habitat for Humanity at(904) 826-3252, ext. 2002 or go to www.habitatstjohns.org
